Channing Tatum and Michael Angarano are in negotiations to join the cast of what is becoming director Steven Soderbergh’s $25 million all-star spy actioner KNOCKOUT.

The film stars female MMA fighter Gina Carano as a private security contractor betrayed by a teammate and subsequently driven to deliver some payback.

Tatum, star of G.I. JOE and FIGHTING, is set to play one of Carano’s spy cell teammates. He is expected to train with a Mossad agent in preparation for the role.

Angarano, best known as the young hero from THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, will play a teen who comes to Carano’s aid when she’s in trouble and unwittingly becomes her partner.

Also starring in the film is Michael Douglas, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, and Dennis Quaid.

Production is expected to begin in February with location shoots planned in Spain and Ireland. Release is planned for 2011.
