Empire Online recently spoke to Lauren Shuler-Donner, producer of the X-MEN films, about upcoming feature film spin-offs including the sequel to X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. From her comments, it sounds like WOLVERINE 2 is going to be taking its fighting action seriously.

What’s cool about this part of the saga is that Wolverine will be fighting in a different style to what we’ve seen before,” said Shuler-Donner. “Mariko’s father has this stick-like weapon, so Wolverine will have to fight against that. There’ll be samurai, ninja, katana blades, different forms of martial arts — mano-a-mano, extreme fighting.”

She went on to compare X-MEN: FIRST CLASS to the more recent HARRY POTTER films and defended the casting of Ryan Reynolds in a DEADPOOL spin-off, as well as in GREEN LANTERN by stating that Harrison Ford got away with playing similar characters in the INDIANA JONES and STAR WARS films.

A quick look at Shuler-Donner’s IMDb page reveals that she is attached to two other comic book movies including X-MEN ORIGINS: MAGNETO and CONSTANTINE 2.

Lies, lies, and more mother f'n lies. The new Wolvie movie will suck ass just like the first one. Fox would have to get the right movie producers and a good script that won't mess up the timeline of the whole movie franchise. Like my man Flava Flav said “Don't believe the hype!”.
