Action star Jacky Wu Jing (FATAL CONTACT) is gearing up to not only star, but go behind the cameras to make his directorial debut alongside Jackie Chan Stunt Team leader Nicky Li Chung-Chi for a new martial arts action film.
LEGENDARY ASSASSIN (tentative) revolves around a cop investigating a murder with the chief suspect being a mysterious martial arts master. Aside from Wu, Alex Fong Chung-Sum and newcomer Celina Jade will star. It is to no surprise that Nicky Li will not only co-direct but will serve as the film’s action choreographer. Li and Wu have worked together on the action films FATAL CONTACT, INVISIBLE TARGET, and more recently, FATAL MOVE.
The film is budgeted at $4 million and will be handled by Easternlight Films, the Asian label created by Arclight Films. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer for a late 2008 release date.
