Open casting call for ‘Ninja Turtles’ film

TMNT An open casting event to recruit martial arts experts for the new TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES film has been organized in association with Mirage Studios, 4Kids Entertainment and TMNT Productions. Although not specified as being related to this particular event, it has been reported elsewhere that producers have been looking for martial artists to portray members of the Foot Clan.

The open casting event will take place at the Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 18th, 2009 and runs from 10am to 1pm. Judges in attendance will be made up of producers Scott Mednick and Galen Walker, veteran stunt actor Ernie Reyes Jr. and Jason Morgan from the American Taekwondo Association.

Those interested will be asked to perform a single-person, 30-second martial arts demo. Metal, sharp or bladed weapons are not permitted so leave your sais, shuriken and swords at home.

  • I didn't make it to LA for this, but I did make it to Comic-Con for the TMNT panel. Afterwards I sat down with Kevin Eastman.     As long as it has the tone and mood of the first movie this should be very good. Technology has vastly improved since the third movie so I can't wait to see how they make the turtles' suites. GO NINJA! GO NINJA! GO!

    The 25th anniversary TMNT website briefly listed the writer of the 2011 movie as John Fusco, the writer of "The Forbidden Kingdom", before removing the page. Probably waiting for SDCC to announce it.
