Longtime readers may know that I enjoy viewing and featuring quality, martial arts film-related illustrations from genre fans. Today, I was pleasantly surprised to receive in my e-mail box a fantastic homage to Jackie Chan’s POLICE STORY by an illustrator named Sam Gilbey.
According to Gilbey, this awesome poster was digitally painted entirely by hand with a Wacom pen, Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop.
More of Gilbey’s illustrative portfolio can be found at his web site Sam Gilbey Illustrates. There you’ll find other excellent pop culture and Asian influenced artwork including a portrait of Japanese filmmaker and star Takeshi Kitano.
