Attendees of the New York Comic Con will have an opportunity to sit in on a special panel presentation of an upcoming sci-fi/action TV series called EMISSARY. The presentation takes place on Friday, February 6th at 6pm and will include teaser footage and a Q & A session.

Philip Morris

The series is written by, produced by and starring Wing Chun exponent and SMALLVILE actor Philip Morris who suggests that he’ll be using the series as an opportunity, among other things, to reveal his martial arts screen fighting skills.

EMISSARY is the story of anthropologist Campbell Essex discovering his destiny as the latest in a line of “Emissaries” or peak humans. Constantly pursued by ancient enemies who seek his power, Campbell struggles to overcome his own limitations before it’s too late.

According to a press release issued out, the series, created by Philip Morris and Dekker Dreyer, spans several hundred years and touches on serious issues of what it means to be human while bringing a new level of brutal realism to the sci-fi / fantasy genre.

The series also stars Aaron Douglas (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA), Brian Thompson (STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE), Thaao Penghlis, Yuri Lowenthal, and J LaRose.

The series is being produced by Mnemosyne LLC and the Emissary Partners. Shooting is scheduled to begin in late 2009. Distribution is slated for IPTV, short for Internet Protocol Television, a broadband video on demand platform.

I am a fan of Thaao Penghlis. This sounds like a good show and I will be waiting for it to start. Thaao is a great actor and this will be fun for him to do. Something different. The best to all the actors. I liked Star Treck and Battlestar. I also liked M.I. See you guys later this year.
