Two pop-singing action stars from two different countries met on stage at the Olympic Stadium in Beijing on May 1st when Korea’s Rain, star of upcoming Hollywood actioner NINJA ASSASSIN showed up to sing two of his hit songs in support of Jackie Chan’s Good Friend charity concert. Jackie Chan performed alongside Rain while singing the lyrics in Mandarin.
Rain sang “Rainism” and “It’s Raining,” which begs the question from someone unfamiliar with his musical offerings, do all of his songs have something to do with rain and why was he not drenched in rain on stage like he is in the NINJA ASSASSIN promo art that we’ve seen so far? I call into question his commitment to this whole rain motif. He was, however, rocking a Michael Jackson-esque suit that I doubt we’ll see him wearing in the movie.
Check out Rain’s dance moves and his performance with Jackie Chan in the video below. The audio is lousy but it provides a good visual example of what these multi-faceted entertainers do when they’re not beating people up on a movie set. Although in Rain’s case, he’s still new to the action film business and probably feels more comfortable on stage.
