Like previous Magnolia releases of imported actioners, their DVD release of Marko Zaror’s MIRAGEMAN is basic, with few frills but little to complain about in terms of presentation. When past studios have opted to edit foreign film content, omit original language tracks, change titles, and perform other unnecessary hacks to imported films, it’s enough to just see a movie released in this country with the option to see it the way it was intended to be seen and heard in its own country.
The film is presented in 16:9 anamorphic widescreen with an original aspect ratio of 1.78:1. There is a nice selection of audio options with original Spanish and dubbed English tracks in both 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo. Optional English subtitles are included.
Bonus content is limited to a short, 3-minute behind-the-scenes featurette with some production video footage and trailers for other Magnolia genre releases including ONG BAK 2, NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD and THE CANYON.
