As for your last comments yes!!!! to Kelly Hu, fun to watch, and the accent was odd, she was going for a different voice inflection.

Eternityblack-Love your name- yeah there were some odd things about the tracking device. The movie is pretty good and of course the whole tracking device thing is little weird. For some reason I always get excited when Kelly Hu is in something. And is it just me, but her accent in the film makes her sound like Michelle Yeoh.

I have to agree with your review. I could have written more, but didn't want to make it too long, already rolling in at nearly 1000 words. Actually I read your comments like an add on to my review, expounding on my thoughts. Very insightful work, and appreciated.

Eric, thank you kindly for your comments. I completely agree with you about Kelly Hu's performance. She did a great job as far as acting goes and held her own in the action scenes as well. I wish that Scott Adkins could have had a bigger role in this but this was filmed over two years ago and he is just now starting to get some name recognition. He gets the most out of his brief screen time though. I thought the French assassin in the movie was impressive too with his parkour and stuntwork. There IS a lot of things in the movie that don't make sense if you stop to think about them. Like why do some of the best assassins in the world pause when they have someone dead in their sights to allow someone else the chance to shoot them before they pull the trigger. And yes, the tracking device made no sense. A surgeon comes into Lai Lai's room the night before to put her's in so you're thinking 'wow, they must be really burying that thing somewhere'. But then the French assassin plucks his out like a splinter with the flick of knife while he's sitting on a toilet. The montage was indeed very weird but not very original. I've seen the same type of scene a hundred times before. Violent action set against slow music like opera or Frank Sinatra. John Woo has done it in his movies. I know this film went through some rewrites and I'm willing to be that those scenes in that montage were from a storyline that didn't make the final cut. In fact the first trailer I saw for this film two years ago was very different and the priest wasn't featured much at all but he's the main character in the lastest trailer. Flaws aside though, the action is very well done and the pace is so fast that you don't have much time to think about the details.

I thought “The Tournament” was pretty good as well.
