Trinity Home Entertainment’s DVD release of Chuck Norris’ A FORCE OF ONE is an average budget title that benefits from bonus content that reveals the company behind Chuck Norris’ initial success at an action star.

A Force of One (DVD - Trinity Home Entertainment)

The print is presented in a cropped full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1 although this isn’t exactly a movie begging to be seen in a wide screen format. A nice collection of Dolby Digital audio options include two and six-channel English, as well as French and Spanish. There are no subtitles.

The Making of A Force of One (15 minutes) - American Cinema Productions put together this featurette in 2003. It contains interviews with a number of crew members from the original production including producer Alan Belkin and director Paul Aaron. They reminisce about making the movie and divulge a few interesting tidbits such as a simple neck break sound effect that threatened to give the film an X rating, the equivalent of NC-17 today. It really shows how moronic the MPAA has always been considering that the movie is now PG. Clu Gulagar is the only cast member interviewed. He gives his impressions of Chuck Norris.

How American Cinema Changed Hollywood Forever (28 minutes) - Produced at the same time as the “Making Of” featurette, this longer segment chronicles the rise and fall of American Cinema Productions. It’s a fascinating look at an independent studio that had a huge impact on the modern marketing of movies in the U.S. It also reveals that Chuck Norris’ rise to fame as an action star was closely tied to the studio.

Trailer and TV Spot - These original promotional trailers for A FORCE OF ONE can be better appreciated after watching the previous featurettes as they discuss in detail the marketing of the film.

Cast and Crew bios - Brief profiles of the principle cast are included. Notably missing is Bill Wallace.
