Scott Adkins

Scott Adkins Fanz has just kindly notified us of a new video released on Youtube that shows British-born martial arts star Scott Adkins training for his role in Isaac Florentine’s upcoming film UNDISPUTED 3. I don’t understand why but the U.K. spits out more martial arts screen talent than Hong Kong and Thailand combined.

The actor powers his way through a grueling session that looks more like training for an upcoming championship MMA match than a movie. This, ladies and gentlemen, is what a real martial arts movie star looks like. It’s months of blood, sweat and tears for 90 minutes of glory. Seriously, check out those lightning-fast kicks. There is no undercranking going on here. He is the real deal, right up there with Tony Jaa and Donnie Yen. Get any of these guys in a quality international movie together and fans’ heads would start spontaneously exploding all over the world.

Adkins is returning to the role of prison fighter Uri Boyka, this time as the protagonist forced to fight for his freedom in a series of mixed martial arts matches.

I knew this guy was going to go far the minute I took notice of him in Florentine’s SPECIAL FORCES. He’s still waiting for his big break but Florentine has been doing a great job of keeping him busy in direct-to-video films that keep on getting better. Florentine is gradually heading towards his big break as an action director too. Both of these guys and no doubt many of Florentine’s longtime associates need to be involved in big-budget theatrical action and martial arts movies.

Watch for Adkins as “Weapon XI” in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE when it arrives in theaters May 1st. He will next be appearing in Florentine’s NINJA, which is now in post-production and scheduled for release later this year. If you haven’t seen this guy in action already check out UNDISPUTED 2 and THE SHEPHERD: BORDER PATROL where he goes up against Jean-Claude Van Damme.

I really hope that Wolverine kick starts Scott's career.Up until now he's been on that list of guys who should be stars and aren't for whatever reason:Gary Daniels,Ron Hall,Donnie Yen and the list goes on.Meanwhile we real fans keep getting bullshit from Hokiewood."Hey guys, lets get a pouty lipped male model teach him to throw a round house kick and make him a star!" Fucking pathetic, end of rant:)
  • Scott is definitely on his way to the top!!!!

Scott definitely is an amazing fighter. As Mark said, he showcased his skills in Special Forces and actually started his career in Hong Kong, where he was in Extreme Challenge and played a terrorist in Jackie Chan's Accidental Spy. However, it is his work here where he really showcased his skills. I can't wait to see both Ninja and Undisputed 3.

He's a beast. I only wish Michael Jai White could have shown off kicking skills in Undisputed 2, but since he was playing a boxer....too bad. But Scott had a lot of "wow" moments in Undisputed 2, hope this one will go all out. He has beautiful kicks for a tall guy.
  • Thanks again for the heads up!

I just added both movies to my queues:
Undisputed 2 is available from both Netflix and Blockbuster
The Sheperd: Border Patrol is only available from Blockbuster

BTW, started watching Ong Bak (again) on Roku/Netflix watch instantly last night. All of you movie fans out there should have one of these outstanding devices by now! It nicely fills in the gap between those DVD deliveries and will replace them all eventually. Oh, I also recommend that you check out the Thai movie "Dynamite Warrior" (watch instantly on Netflix)--very cool. However, don't be mislead into thinking that it is another Ong Bak and watch it with an open mind.

    Happy viewing ladies and gentlemen!

Scott is the real deal. Still waiting on that one film that'll break him out. Undisputed 2 is fantastic.
