Tai Seng has just announced the November 25th DVD releases of extreme actioner SHAMO (2007 – trailer), along with the complete, 26-hour wuxia series THE SPIRIT OF THE SWORD (2007) starring Nicholas Tse and Gillian Chung.

SHAMO is an ultra-violent martial arts film that stars Shawn Yu as a college student who snaps and murders his parents. He trains in karate while in prison, and emerges as a lethal professional fighter. Directed by Cheang Pou-soi (DOG BITE DOG), SHAMO is based on a manga title by Izo Hashimoto and features Francis Ng (EXILED), Japanese kickboxer Masato and kung fu movie veteran Bruce Liang (KUNG FU HUSTLE).

THE SPIRIT OF THE SWORD is based on a novel by the late, great wuxia author Gu Long. A Japanese samurai has come to China to acquire seven famous swords. His quest unavoidably makes him the victim of a conspiracy, which leads him to a confrontation with the local Chinese swordsmen. As the ancient city where the swords are hidden becomes a center of fierce duels, it will take extraordinary efforts to end the violent conflicts.

As with all of Tai Seng’s Hong Kong imports, both releases are presented with their original Cantonese soundtrack and include optional English subtitles.

Other Tai Seng releases coming out on November 25th include Hong Kong comedy THE LUCKIEST MAN and Thai horror flick, HAUNTED DRUM.

Tai Seng most recently released Donnie Yen’s LEGEND OF THE WOLF and TEARFUL SWORD (TV series) on DVD. THE LEGEND AND THE HERO TV series arrives on October 28.
