Shinichi Fujita’s artsy action short ‘Yassy’

Now available to watch in its entirety is director Shinichi Fujita’s trippy action short YASSY, starring stunt actress Hiroko Yashiki, American stunt actor Chuck Johnson, Sean Muramatsu, and Kensuke Sonomura. Action direction is by Yuji Shimomura, the AD behind VERSUS, ARAGAMI and SHINOBI: HEART UNDER BLADE. Fujita previously wrote the script for DEATH TRANCE, an actioner starring Tak Sakaguchi and directed by Shimomura.

YASSY defies description, at least plot-wise. It deals with a woman suffering a mental breakdown. The brief psychological journey she goes through provides us with a series of artfully arranged fight sequences. The results may be a little confusing but it’s definitely a quirky and original short.
