It’s slightly moldy news but worth posting anyway since it hasn’t been widely publicized. Moviehole reports that Abel Ferrara has left Columbia’s GAME OF DEATH, the action film now in production in Detroit that would have reunited the KING OF NEW YORK filmmaker with star Wesley Snipes.
It isn’t known why Ferrara left. Replacing him is the lesser known Giorgio Serafini who has largely been working in Italian TV for the past five years.
GAME OF DEATH is not related to the similarly titled martial arts movie that starred Bruce Lee. It concerns a botched assassination attempt on a diplomat that leaves him and the bodyguard wounded. At the hospital, the bodyguard and a nurse team up to protect the diplomat from a second attack.
Stunt actress Zoe Bell (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, ANGEL OF DEATH) and Robert Davi also star.
