Variety reports that Madrid-based film and television production company Vertice 360 is planning a martial arts project as part of its 2008 slate of inhouse features.
EXTREMO is scripted by Antonio Trashorras, co-writer of Guillermo del Toro’s THE DEVIL’S BACKBONE. It’s expected to run somewhere between $3 million and $9 million and will be targeted at local audiences.
The production is being called a pioneering move and for good reason. Spain does not have any history of producing indigenous martial arts movies.
