Released in Taiwan by Hoker Records and made available internationally through Hong Kong-based retailer Yesasia.com is this licensed DVD release of Jimmy Wang Yu’s rousing kung fu classic THE BRAVE AND THE EVIL, featuring original poster art on the cover and starring Wang Yu and Polly Shang-kwan as martial arts heroes determined to bring an army of bandits to justice.
The source print is widescreen, slightly cropped on the sides from a 2.35:1 aspect ratio to approximately 2.15:1. It’s worn with faded colors and some speckling but generally in good condition. The digital transfer is NTSC, full screen (4:3) and progressive scan with an average bitrate.
The original Mandarin-language dub track is provided in two-channel mono with a bitrate of 256 Kbps.
Optional Chinese and English subtitles are available. The English subs are poorly written with many errors in grammar and translation. However, they’re good enough to follow along with.
There are no extras.
