I didn't stress this angle but because THE DESPERATE CHASE is more story driven, it is more likely to appeal to non-martial arts movie fans. It's a great film to use to introduce friends and family to martial arts movies of the early '70s. Good point. I found it in a 2nd hand store years ago on some cheap dvd label, but it's a pretty good print. Although it goes under the title of 'Blood Of The Dragon' this copy has the original audio. personally I think its a toss of the coin as to this or 'beach of the war gods' being Wang Yu's best work. Both of these films I can show to anyone, whether interested in martial art cinema or not, and they love them. To me that is the mark of a great martial film. this film is brilliant.
