You seem to be either jealous of Jaden Smith's opportunity or possibley racist. I thought that you were aware that the 6 year age difference won't make this movies strong points weak. As a matter of fact a 10 year old is probably more liable to get bullied than a 16 year old with the mindstate that ralph macchio seemed to posses(natural confidence). Jaden Smiths nature doesn't appear as agressive as Ralph Macchio's was. The whole bully scene in California was a little extreme and unrealistic and went too far.Whether Ralph knew karate or not he was willing to fight back and that wouldn't necessarily make him a target when there are way to many other weak kids who wont fight at all. Also if they were the type of kids to go to those extremes of violence and Ralph and Myagi kicked their asses and humiliated them they would just have shot them both on a sneak tip. This movie didn't suck despite those obvious lapses in logic so I doubt that this will suck. To be fair to you the movies coming out now arenot as good as the 80's movies you and i watched butthat's the new generation out now. Like for e.g I hate reality t.v. I would rather watch tv land when they hadreal programs but to the kids today those shows like the fall guy and six million dollar man and airwolf. They couldn't even appreciate those programs.

If your going to remake THE KARATE KID why get a 10 year old to play the part. Daniel LaRusso was 16 years old, the movie will suck.

its a american ledgend this movie with a cult following almost 30 years later, if you do a remake at least show the original a little respect by casting the right actors and not 10 year old brats who arent even aware of the affects this movie had on its generation. cast the right people shoot the film in california and try to stay as true to the classic as you can otherwise the true fan in his 20s-40s wont be interested and it will flop before its ever even made.

What about Tadashi Yamashita form “American Ninja”? He’s real master and sensei in karate and in the perfect age for the character. What’s for me it’s better to find another boy than another Mr. Miyagi, because, for example, the choice of the kid for “Forbidden Kingdom” was awful.

IDEA!!! Maybe they can get Sho Kosugi, it will be perfect!!!
