Director Scott Mann’s violent assassin-versus-assassin actioner THE TOURNAMENT will continue its festival run by opening horror film festival Screamfest LA 2009 in October.
This bloody and fast-paced British action thriller stars Robert Carlyle as a priest inadvertently caught up in a death match held every seven years pitting the world’s top assassins against each other. Leading assassins are played by Ving Rhames, Kelly Hu, Scott Adkins, and Ian Somerhalder.
Fight choreography is provided by J.J. Perry and Jon Valera. Valera worked on James McTeigue’s NINJA ASSASSIN and Perry previously arranged fight scenes for Adkins in Isaac Florentine’s UNDISPUTED 2 and THE SHEPHERD, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Screamfest runs October 16-25 at the Mann Chinese Theaters in Hollywood, California. Check out their web site for ticket information.
