I saw the trailer on tv and said, "Man I have to see this movie!" One of the cool scenes I remember was when Leroy kicked sho 'nuff in the chest knocked him out cold. When Leroy looked for him he appeared out nowhere and said, "Play time is over boy." He had the red glow, simulating he had reached the final level but on an evil perspective. Leroy started geting beat good but after asking Leroy, "Who's the master." about 6 times Leroy finally realized he was the master and kicked the crap out of Sho 'nuff. Great movie..

I'll be at the Show to see this one, but It should be left alone. Taimak, Julius Carry and the 80's makes it the cult classic it is! I rather see a part 2 or continuation of the story with a new journey and Leroy as the Master who teaches the new blood, but that's Hollywood for ya! It could be fun, but very few remakes have been better than the first.

I'm just watching the Last Dragon at the moment and its still as good as I remember. As for a remake I would rather see a sequel and Samuel Jackson is the man, the film will be all the better for him being in it. I hope Taimak has a big role and not just a 2 minute cameo.

Yes, I agree it is nice to see another side of Taimak and how he has endured his struggles along the way. However, Taimak should feel extremely proud of the accomplishments that he has made...He is working with the youth, teaches fitness, keeping himself in ultimate shape and etc... that's phenomenal! Hopefully this will re-vamp his career as far as acting..but in my eyes, he is still a success!
I am glad to know that Taimak will have a role in the remake. But honestly...I feel like most people..that they should focus on a sequel to this movie. This movie is a classic (although corny)! Today, the music....I don't even no where to begin. IT's crap! For the most part, we are tired of remakes and more .....remakes! For Taimak..."All things happen when they suppose to" Good Luck and God Bless

I have been quoting this movie for years. (When I say Sho 'nuff, you say...) It only goes to show you that if you wait around long enough it all comes back again.

Congratulations Taimak! We Love You!

I just read the article and there needs to be some corrections.
1. I was 17 when I worked at "BONDS", not "BOND".
2. I didn't bodyguard, I bounced there.
3. Berry Gordy isn't doing the remake Kerry Gordy and a Sony exec is at the helm.

Thank you Kung Fu Cinema and Clarke Nigel for the positive article!
Unless you know "Hollywood" you don't know what it takes to work there.
It's not anything like you think.
I was 19 when I landed that role and it was a great experience. Yes there were alot of unfulfilled expectations and I don't blame anyone for that at all.
I love my life and I'm ready to show everyone what "real" martial arts is onscreen.
Being black was very difficult back then and even to this day in Hollywood. Getting work as an actor...I've done alot of theater since TLD and rehearsing a play as we speak.
I think Obama being biracial like myself can see both sides of things and can bring some unity amongst cultures, races and religions. I sure hope so.
I do see a connection between his presidential race and the announcement of TLD remake.
Since the original film there hasn't been any martial arts film that dealt with this dynamic and I think the youth aswell as martial arts needs a shot of peace, love and inner wisdom.
I wish everyone the best in the search for the final level;)
