From action director Koichi Sakamoto and Alpha Stunts, the action team behind Steve Wang’s DRIVE and DEVIL MAY CRY 3 (the video game) comes BROKEN PATH, starring former Power Ranger Johnny Bosch. From the trailer, this looks to be a seriously hard-hitting and relentless martial arts thriller that finally delivers.

In addition to being a longtime Power Ranger, Bosch starred in Sakamoto’s first directing gig, WICKED GAME, alongside Motoko Nagino who also appears in BROKEN PATH. Bosch has also done considerable voice acting on video game and anime projects. He’s currently finishing up STRAY, an action film he wrote and directed.

For the last decade, Sakamoto and his Alpha Stunts team have been the driving force behind the fighting action in the ongoing POWER RANGERS TV franchise. Yeah, that’s kids stuff but what Alpha Stunts has been doing outside of the franchise is anything but. Sakamoto’s stunt choreography credits include HELLRAISER: INFERNO and DRACULA 2000. He also teamed with fellow POWER RANGERS vet Isaac Florentine on SAVATE. Florentine, of course, has made his own name for directing genre favorites like U.S. SEALS 2 and UNDISPUTED 2.

Speaking of U.S. SEALS 2, one of its stars, Dan Southworth also stars in BROKEN PATH.

The question is when can we see it? Tricoast Worldwide has their hands on it now, hopefully already working out a distribution deal. If not, they’ll be at AFM next month so hopefully we’ll get an update before the end of the year.

Please e-mail me when this movie becomes available on DVD, I've told so many people how badass this movie was. They have to see it, so much action & great fight scenes.

I can't wait to see this film! The trailer is definitely intense. Is there no information on when it will be released? Fantastic stunts and martial arts work here.

P.S. I can't believe this is from the action team behind DMC3 (my second favorite game of all time) and Drive (the absolute best martial arts sci-fi movie.)

Wow I didn't know Johnny Bosch starred in martial arts movies (or that Undisputed 2's Isaac Florentine did Power Rangers) I love Johnny Yong Bosch's voice as Vash from Trigun, Nero from DMC4 and the insane main villain from the extremely underrated Heat Guy J. And Broken Path looks pretty intense. I had no clue Johnny Yong Bosch could fight so good. Now I got to go check on how Dante Basco (Avatar's Zuko) is doing in Blood and Bone. Buttkicking voice actors FTW!!!!!!!!!!

Was Daniel Southworth the blond haired guy in the trailer?

Wow! Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam, The Original Power Rangers from 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2, Green Zeo Ranger from 'Power Rangers ZEO and Green Turbo Ranger from 'Power Rangers Turbo') and Daniel Southworth (Eric, Quantum Ranger from 'Power Rangers Time Force') are both in this movie! I'm definitely gonna looking forward to see it!

Both of them are my favorite Rangers during Saban's Era. Awesome.

Poopin sweet. Just poopin sweet. Johnny has always been one of the most skilled rangers. This looks like it can become a hit but it dosen't seem like they have muchg budgt though.
  • Thank god for Koichi! Johnny is very capable and it's good to see him fight a lil more less polished for this feature. Independent martial arts film in America is on the rise!

"Unleashed" is damn right. This is really similar to Danny's charecter. It does look corny and cliched as hell, but who cares with awesome fights like these.

Yeah, I've been looking forward to this for a while now. Sakamoto's choreography is always great; probably the best American when it comes to capturing the Hong Kong style. Johnny Yong Bosch is also a very, very capable screenfighter, which he showed in his previous effort with Sakamoto -- Wicked Game. I just feel like I'm watching "Vash the Stampede" when I hear his voice every time.

Wow! Johnny Bosch really "unleashed" his skills here! I put unleashed in quotes because his intensity when the action picked up in the trailer reminded me of Jet Li's character Danny. There's a rage and anger in his eyes that Bosch performed quite nicely. I'll definitely look for it on DVD.
