Jason Statham is gearing up once again to portray professional car driver and all-around badass Frank Martin in the third entry to producer Luc Besson’s TRANSPORTER series. A newly released French teaser trailer shows the series hasn’t lost any of its cool.
What the series has lost is its director Louis Leterrier, who dropped out after the disappointment that was TRANSPORTER 2 in favor of shooting THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008). He’s replaced by Olivier Megaton, director of the Asia Argento actioner THE RED SIREN (2002).
Corey Yuen has been lured back to direct the fighting action and Statham looks to be in top form physically. What we can only hope is that Besson has dumped the CGI action and cartoony action sequences of the previous film in favor of more hardcore fighting and driving action.
Teaser looks promising and gets an extra point for using The Stooges for its music.
THE TRANSPORTER 3 is scheduled to release in the U.S. on November 26th, 2008 courtesy of Lionsgate.
