It has been confirmed by the actor himself that Danny Trejo will not be appearing in Sylvester Stallone’s THE EXPENDABLES despite rumors to the contrary. Film site Gordon and the Whale caught up with Trejo at CineVegas where he stated that he had never even been asked to play a role.
On a happier note, Trejo also confirmed that he had just spoken with filmmaker Robert Rodriguez who told him that production would begin on MACHETE in five weeks.
MACHETE is a long-in-development pet project of Rodriguez that first saw the light of day in a mock trailer attached to the GRINDHOUSE double feature. The film is meant to be a possible action franchise for Trejo.
