There is a new action hero on the horizon and his name is John “Falcon” Chapman. And even better, he’s coming in September in what could be the start of a potential franchise.

Directed by Ernie Barbarash, FALCON RISING stars Michael Jai White as Chapman, a former Marine who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder. When his sister is brutally beaten and left for dead in the favelas of Brazil, Chapman heads there to seek revenge. The film co-stars Neal McDonough, Masashi Odate, Lateef Crowder, and Laila Ali as Chapman’s sister.

Kung Fu Cinema favorite Larnell Stovall served as the film’s action director and judging from the trailer, the fight scenes here look awesome. Michael Jai White confirmed that the film is due for release on September 5, 2014, perhaps on Video on Demand and a limited theatrical release. Either way, this movie looks like a definite must see for martial arts film fans.
