Director John Woo’s latest epic film RED CLIFF will be split in two films in Asia, whereas the rest of the world, it will be seen in a single version that will be shorter than Woo’s original cut. At the Hong Kong International Film Mart, Mei Ah Productions have displayed eight posters involving the major characters of the film.

The posters displayed are of the following cast members: Zhang Fengyi as Cao Cao, Vicky Zhao (SHAOLIN SOCCER) as Sun Shang Xiang, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai (INFERNAL AFFAIRS) as Zhou Yu, Takeshi Kaneshiro (HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS) as Zhuge Liang, Shido Nakamura (FEARLESS) as Gan Ning, Lin Chi-Ling as Xiao Qiao, Hu Jun (INFERNAL AFFAIRS II) as Zhao Zilong, and Chang Chen (CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON) as Sun Quan.
Based on the novel ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS, the story revolves around one of the biggest battles in 3rd-Century China, notably 208 A.D. Powerful warlord Cao Cao (Zhang Fengyi) led an army to control the South Territories. This prompts two warriors from separate kingdoms, Sun Quan (Chang Chen) and Liu Bei (You Yong) to form an alliance to stop Cao Cao.
Directed by Woo, produced by Terence Chang, Bill Kong, and Han Sanping, with action choreography by Dion Lam (A MAN CALLED HERO), RED CLIFF PART I opens July 10 in Asia.
